Delarosa & Compton around the 240's. Both of them are very competitive and have gained a great deal of size since their last show. Can't wait to see the pics to see who wins. I predict that Delarosa will win with Compton being in second place but if Compton wins, congrats to him as well. Both of them well deserved champions.

Cedric McMillan Will Defend Title at New York Pro 2013
After his disqualification at the Arnold Classic Brazil on Saturday,
Cedric McMillan has decided to toss his hat into the ring at the New
York Pro on May 25th.
McMillan was disqualified after he missed a mandatory meeting held one day before the Arnold Classic Brazil.
While some thought Big Mac might still be able to compete despite the infraction, Cedric opted not to appeal the decision. McMillan took the penalty in stride and hopped a plane back to the States with a firm focus on the New York Pro.
But he didn't get away without Shawn Ray to ask him about the details of his disqualification drama in Rio!

Who is Fred Smalls - Two Weeks from Arnold
By
far the most talented performer on stage, IFBB Pro Fred Smalls is
looking to change our perspective and view of him as an up and coming
IFBB Pro Bodybuilder as opposed to a Pro with good dance moves.
Smalls
has the on-stage experience having worked his way up several weight
classes in the amateur ranks. Now in the pro ranks, it's a matter of
catching the IFBB Pro Judges' eyes for that nod that will move him into
better placings at these contests.
There really isn't much of any flaw with Fred Smalls other than size. To combat that, Smalls has been hitting the gym like there's no tomorrow, cranking on the weight and supplementing properly with tons of food.
No one can deny that IFBB Pro Fred Smalls is anything but small!

Interview with IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Mark Alvisi
BBI: Question 1: Give some background about yourself?
MA: Mark Alvisi, a first generation Italian American, was born January 12, 1977 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Alvisi family originally from Abruzzi, Italy moved to the United States in 1962. They planted their roots in Coatesville, Pennsylvania where Mark was raised. From his earliest memories, Mark was extremely athletic as a kid; he played many sports and excelled in Martial A...rts. At 12 years old he ran across some bodybuilding magazines that made an indelible impression on him. This is when the seed was planted and the love of bodybuilding began. Mark would dabble with weight lifting in his home basement even though he didn't have much in the way of real equipment. This lasted through his teens until he graduated high school at 18 years old and joined the Army. While in the Army he completed basic training, Advanced Individual Training and Airborne school. It was in the Army that he had the ability to weight train regularly since he now had access to a real gym. Not only was he quick to develop physically, but he also developed an unshakeable work ethic that would eventually carry over into his bodybuilding career. He successfully completed his term of service in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 3rd Special Forces Group Support Command as a Sergeant E-5. Upon completion of his term he made the move to South Florida.
Once in Florida he was exposed to the competition side of the sport for the first time and was convinced by the head trainer of his gym, a NPC judge and IFBB Pro, that he should compete. Mark, competitive in nature, made the decision to compete in his first bodybuilding contest in April of 2001. That proved to be a very wise decision as he won the Overall at his inaugural show. After that victory, Mark Alvisi was hooked. He went on to obtain Professional status in the NABF and Musclemania organizations before switching to the NPC in 2003. Mark's rock like work ethic finally paid off in July of 2009 where he won the Overall at the NPC USA Championships and earned his IFBB Professional status.
Mark has had many incredible opportunities since 2001 when he began his career. He has worked for various sports nutrition and publication companies such as Gaspari Nutrition and Muscular Development since that time in either sales or as a sponsored athlete. Mark's visibility and fan base is wide reaching and spans the globe due to the marketing efforts of Gaspari Nutrition.
The culmination of his growing popularity and industry contacts is leading Mark into an exciting new direction. In October 2010, he opened his first sports nutrition store in Delray Beach, Florida. This premiere store is named Pro Sports Nutrition. Http://www.ProSportsNutritionOnline.com/
To take things a step further, in November of 2010 Mark discovered an amazing hydrolyzed liquid collagen formula used by medical professionals for decades for connective tissue regeneration but not available to the general public. After nearly two years of not only himself but also his customers and clients experiencing the benefits of the formula he formed his new nutritional supplement company Revive Sciences. Mark and his partners and committed to producing an effective product of the highest quality to the general public. To learn more about the huge benefits of Revive Sciences collagen protein visit the corporate website at Http://www.ReviveSciences.com
BBI: Myself & the fans are wondering, where have you been?
MA: I have been working full time at my business Pro Sports Nutrition ( www.ProSportsNutritionOnline.com) and also launching my new company Revive Sciences (www.ReviveSciences.com ). I am off season mass training to compete next year.
BBI: Are done with competing or taking a long break?
MA: Just focusing on improving and building my companies this year.
BBI: How does your past make you into a better bodybuilder today?
MA: Nothing takes the place of experience. That in addition to more muscle maturity usually helps me bring a winning package.
BBI: How's the business going? Do you have any new ventures?
MA: Business is steady and I am moving my shop to another plaza so that Pro Sports Nutrition will be steps away from the gym I train in, Level 5 Fitness.
BBI: What's your favorite thing(s) to do outside of bodybuilding?
MA: I love networking with other professionals over new business opportunities.
BBI: What are your feelings on the role of social media in bodybuilding?
MA: I think social media has had a huge impact on the sport as well as giving we athletes a vehicle to brand ourselves and maximize our ability to market ourselves and monetize a strong following.
BBI: Is there any bodybuilder that you'd love to compete against past or present?
MA: Not really. I just want to share the stage with other great bodybuilders.
BBI: What's the best advice someone gave you?
MA: I think early in my career I was taught the importance of proper whole food nutrition as well as supplementation. It really plays a major role in the kind of physique you can build.
BBI: What's the best advice can you give to someone entering bodybuilding?
MA: Find a mentor that is where you want to be and learn as much as you can from someone with experience that you aspire to be like. Then work your ass off in and out of the gym!
BBI: What's the best gym you ever trained at or wanna train at?
MA: Bev's gym in Long Island is the first to come to mind. They have some really great equipment there that you usually can't find in other gyms.
BBI: Do you find it easier being a bodybuilder of today than in the 90's?
MA: No. I think no matter what era a bodybuilder competes in, you have to work very hard and sacrifice a lot to be the best.
BBI: Do you have a support team to thank?
MA: Over the years I have learned a lot from contest prep coaches. The most recent being Hany Rambod. I have to also thank my family and some close friends for traveling to watch me compete. Gaspari Nutrition helped brand and market me from 2008 - 2011 which was a great thing for my career. Finally my fans are a big part of the equation. There would be no show if there where no fans to support the sport! I really value the people that follow and support my professional career.
BBI: If sponsor want to contact you for sponsorship or anyone wants to contact you for personal training, how can they reach you?
MA: Email me at Theusachamp@gmail.com Also be sure to check out my websites www.ProSportsNutritionOnline.com www.ReviveSciences.com and www.MarketingWithAlvisi.com

Victor Martinez Decides to Compete in the 2012 Olympia! Exclusive Interview by Ron Harris
"I'm doing the Olympia!"
Victor Martinez makes a surprising announcement
Exclusive Muscular Development interview by Ron Harris
Nobody thought he would actually do it. Victor Martinez had been dropping hints and saying he was taking things week by week as far as his decision to compete in this year's Mr. Olympia contest, but it seemed highly unlikely. The man had been locked up for seven months without access to decent food, weights, or any supplements. He dropped down to 220 pounds, the lightest he had been since he was a teenager. Meanwhile, the other top contenders for the O like Phil, Kai, Branch, Wolf, and Evan were putting away mountains of steaks, chicken breasts, and blasting away at the weights. Phil and Kai took the whole year off competing and used all that time and more to build even more insane, dense muscle mass. Branch, Wolf, and Evan all managed to squeeze in an off-season and a diet for the Arnold, then another brief off-season before launching into Olympia prep. Victor is in a completely different situation from any other man entering this year's big show.
Today, at 15 1/2 weeks out from the Mr. Olympia, he is still re-gaining the muscle that he lost while in jail until April 27 of this year. Every other man is coming down from his off-season bodyweight, while Victor is still gaining. It's crazy, but that's how the old-school men like Arnold did it almost 40 years ago. But beating the odds is kind of Victor's thing, isn't it? The day it was announced that he was throwing his hat in the ring for the 2012 Mr. Olympia, I had to get him on the line and find out how this decision was made and why.
MD: Victor, exactly when did you decide you would go for it, and what were the main factors that influenced your decision?
VM: The decision was more like a process that's been going on in my head almost from the day I got out at the end of April. What it really came down to was that I just wouldn't feel right skipping the Olympia even if the odds are against me. I've never let that stop me from doing anything before and I didn't want to start now.
MD: Just so people know, when was the deadline for qualified competitors to sign the Olympia contract?
VM: It was a couple weeks ago and I won't lie - I was reluctant to sign it and make that commitment. My main concern isn't gaining the muscle back in time, it's the quality of the muscle. You got Phil, Kai, Branch, Wolf; these are all tough competitors and I don't underestimate them or what they're going to bring.
MD: What is your current weight and how lean are you? Are you still putting size on, and do you feel like due to the extended break you had, you might actually be making new gains in mass over the next few weeks?
VM: I'm 262, so that means I've put on 42 pounds in the seven weeks since I got out. Do the math! Six pounds of muscle a week on average. Can I get bigger than ever before? I don't know. If I wasn't going to be dieting hard for the Olympia I think that would be possible. But for me to say I'm going to be in condition and bigger than ever before, especially under the circumstances - no, I wouldn't make some crazy prediction like that.
MD: The old-school guys like Arnold used to stay lighter in the off-season and 'eat up' to shows, gaining weight over the prep and getting leaner. Most guys obviously get as huge and heavy as possible these days and then diet down. You would be the first pro I know since Levrone retired to even attempt the old-school way. Have you talked to Kevin at all, or anyone about this? It has to be your first time prepping this way, right?
VM: I haven't talked to anyone. It's all trial and error. But I'm feeling great and I have more energy than I've had in a long time too. I'm really not dieting exactly. I'm eating clean and gaining.
MD: Do you think you'll keep gaining for a few more weeks? Like maybe, until you are 8-10 weeks out?
VM: Sure, it's possible. I need to keep gaining, because I look in the mirror and I still don't see the thickness and fullness in the muscles that I want yet, never mind the detail and quality. I have my work cut out for me these next 15 weeks for sure.
MD: Are you worried about what it would do to your reputation if you placed any lower than last year, which was fourth? Or do you feel like no one even expects you to do that well anyway, given the circumstances?
VM: I would never have signed that contract if I didn't think I was capable of doing at least as good as I did last year if not better. But like you said, I know a lot of people will be writing off my chances this time and that's cool. I love proving people wrong. It's fun for me.
MD: I assume you will also be returning to Madrid to defend your Arnold Classic Europe title. Will you also be going to India again for the Sheru Classic?
VM: Not sure about that. It's a really long trip there and back and it's in between the Olympia and the Arnold Europe. I did it last year, but it was tough. We'll see, but right now the only two shows I am planning on are the Olympia and the Arnold Europe.
MD: You've never prepared for a show after having so much complete rest before. How do you feel mentally and physically now at just over 15 weeks out as compared to how you would normally feel?
VM: I do feel good like I said, but I'm still playing catch-up. Normally right now I would be about 275. But I would also be starting to diet too. This is a totally different scenario than I've ever tried before and I'm really just taking it one day at a time, training my ass off and eating a lot of good food. Stay tuned!

Overall Winner Anthony Pasquale Interview & Jr Nats Wrap Up with Bob and Shawn
Anthony felt comfortable winning his class & in the posedown as well. He's going to do the USA's next. Smart move for him. He thanked his support group.
Shawn & Bob like Anthony Pasquale to make a splash at the USA's but he's gonna have to fill out more since he's gonna have a better group of competition awaiting him. The craziest thing is only 1 bantamweight in the class but at the USA's, there's gonna be 25 of them in a class. Some should do the Junior shows to make a name & get trophy, then jump into a national level show.
