Bros That Cook Presents: R2 or Restaurant Review

I went to Benji's Taqueria Mexican Grill. I'll discuss the food, service and recommendation.

The top is Campechanos Taco. It was a mix of Pastor ("Shepherd" Spit-Roasted, marinated with a variety of peppers) & Carnitas (Delicious shredded crispy roasted pork) with some lime, radishes and cucumber slices. Two different styles of pork in the tacos.

The bottom is Tinga Quesadillas. It was chicken cooked with tomatoes, onions, and chipotle peppers. Topped with lettuce and Oaxaca cheese.

I recommend for people to try out their food. Also, they're bodybuilding/health friendly. It was some really good food. Service was great and the food was Homemade. They're on Facebook so check them out!

Supplement Review: PureBulk.com

PureBulk.com is supplement website that has some great products that my friends and I got to sample. They sent me a great care package and I was intrigued with some of the products they had. One thing I did notice right away was the products dissolved very easily. No clumps and unflavored. Which I like because you can mix it with anything and not get a nasty aftertaste like some other products. For PureBulk.com, they have products I've never seen before. Their delivery services are cheap and who doesn't love that. You have options on how you can have your products like capsules, bag, tub or even bulk. Review: Hungry For Change DVD

This was very good documentary on nutrition. There was things I knew about and things that I was surprise to hear about. This featured many experts in the health, wellness and nutrition fields plus, people who beat their setbacks for a comeback. Here are some notes I wrote down besides my review.

Review of Kai Greene's BELIEVE Event

Most of the bodybuilding world knows Kai Greene as a 2x Arnold Classic Champion and 3x Mr. Olympia runner up but no one knows what he had to go through to become a champion. Many are not aware of the turbulent journey that Kai Greene had to experience to become the champion he is today.

BBI Gym Tour Review: Chiseled Health & Fitness in Plainfield, NJ

I went to a new gym to test out. It's called Chiseled Health & Fitness in Plainfield, NJ. I never heard of this gym until Universal Nutrition did a road trip there during the summer on their Universal Road Trip (Jersey Gyms). It's a decent size gym with some great equipment. It has some things that most gyms don't have, a squat & deadlift platform. They have equipment there for Olympic style events & rubber weights like the Olympics do. They have dumbbells that go up to 170's and some in between weights as well. I recommend this gym to anybody who ready for a good workout, from novice to the elite. Plus, the guest pass was only $5. That's great. Many places charge $10 & up.Here's some pictures of the gym:

 

Gym Write Up: Fitness City in Matawan, NJ

I went to train at Fitness City in Matawan, NJ. The owner is Gary Kamil, who is a very passionate gym owner and former bodybuilder. It's a hardcore gym! It's got everything you need to make whatever strides you're going for plus, an outdoor gym too. The gym was recommended to me by Eric aka Naturalguy on the Universal USA & Animal forums. So I wanted to see how this gym was & it was from what I see. So I wanna thank Eric for recommending this gym and I want you guys to check out this gym as well. I know in July, Universal Nutrition is doing a NJ gym tour and this is one of the gyms they'll be at so show some love to Gary and support his gym with your dedication to train and buy a shirt or two. Also, it's a great location to Arrive by car, bike train or  foot! 1 block from train station, 2 min. to GSP, just off Main Street, Matawan. I have some pics to show you guys.

Review and Results from the 2012 NPC Jr Nationals

Another successful NPC Junior Nationals has come and just like money in my bank account, it’s gone and in the books.

Watching the show from the press pit provides me with a unique and up-close experience I never had prior to working within the industry. I get to see athletes before they hit the stage and speak with them in a pretty informal manner. When athletes like Adam Cohen hit the stage and look completely different from how they look a day prior, it’s pretty awesome.

I had a chance to catch up with some of the people that I admire in the sport on the amateur level such as Brian Yersky, Kevin Jordan, Zinjun Croon and Kevin Tomasini. All are cool, calm and collected individual who will do well in their contest prep. I did tell Kevin since he was so big that if he didn’t shred up for Nationals I was going to hit him in his chest (just kidding Kevin…………or am I?)

The overall winner of the show, Brian Pasquale looked phenomenal. Don’t get me wrong, every class winner looked good, but he was head and shoulders above everyone else. Big, thick and in condition. It was suggested that he doe’s the USA’s and he will answer that call. I hope to see him do well.

On the trainer side, it’s always nice to catch up with Chad Nicholls. I call him and “O.G. Guru” because he’s been in the game a LONG time and has shown what he can do on a high level. I never get to pick his brain like I would like but I’m sure we’ll cross paths again.

Overall, a great NPC Jr.Nationals and a great weekend. Much thanks to my camera guy Chris San Juan for helping me with interviews and I hope it got him inspired for nationals. Look for us next year, same Flex time, same Flex channel!
