Dianna Dahlgren After Winning the 2011 IFBB Phoenix Pro Bikini!

Dianna dominated this show. She was a little softer & did better than she was in Dallas. She coasting to the Olympia.

2011 IFBB Phoenix Pro Mens & Womens Final Video Wrapup with Palumbo & Aceto!

Troy looked good but Hide got a gift. Ed Nunn got robbed. Nunn brought a great package on stage. Marcus Haley also got robbed too. His conditioning was better. Del Rio looked good & I think he deserved 5th. Robert P. looked great & I think this was his 6th or 7th show. He needs to be a tad tighter. Moe Bannout brought the freakiest conditioning here but the judges didn't like his package. Who knows what they like from him? In figure, Candice Keene won this show hands down. Jami DeBernard placed 2nd. She just won her pro card at the this years USA & now she's heading to the Olympia. Alea Suarez made her transition from pro bikini to pro figure & she placed 3rd & heading to the Olympia. In bikini, Dianna Dahlgren won this show easily. The judges loved her look. Cristina Vujnich placed 2nd & she looked great. She was a long torso & the short hair that the judges like to pull off a second placing. Christina Vargas made the switch from figure to bikini & she's heading the Olympia. She placed third.

Troy looked good to win but I thought Ed Nunn should've won. He wants to be compared to the top guys at the Olympia would be great for him. Hidetada might do the Tijuana Pro. He got harder as he was posing but he got a gift. Ed Nunn was robbed for the 2nd place or the victory. He's just gonna prep for the Olympia & he'd feel happy being in the top 10 of the Olympia. Marcus Haley looked great. I think he should've been 3rd place. He's gonna be working on his breathing & transitions to his poses. Alfonso Del Rio will be doing the Tijuana Pro. Jeff Long was overlooked & he's doing the NY Pro next year.

2011 PHOENIX PRO FINAL RESULTS & REPORT!

 

Alves, Keene and Dahlgren win in Phoenix

Today in Phoenix, conditioning proved to be the winning ingredient as Troy Alves edged out a field of 21 competitors to grab his second win of 2011 (Alves won the Europa Show of Champions in July). Alves used his sharp condition and symmetry to edge out the runner-up Hidetada Yamagishi. Hide packs a ton of balanced muscle on his compact frame, but he wasn't as sharp as we've seen him in the past. Third went to Ed Nunn, who displayed a great X-frame and proved he's Olympia material with his second top-3 in three weeks. Fourth went to Marcus Haley, who showed some added size and fifth went to Alfonso DelRio.

The pro figure contest featured a dominating performance from Candice Keene. Her wide back, tiny waist, and sharp conditioning were unbeatable on this day. In second place at only her second pro contest, Jami Debernard looked as polished as any seasoned pro. Alea Suarez landed in third, proving that her switch from bikini to figure was the right decision. Suarez is quickly evolving into a top-tier figure pro. Pre-show favorite Felicia Romero fell to third and Heather Dees grabbed fifth place.

In pro bikini, Dianna Dahlgren finally had her day on top as she won in convincing fashion. DD will head to Vegas with a ton of momentum and some well-deserved expectations. Cristina Vujnich took the runner-up spot and grabbed her Olympia qualification just two months after turning pro (NPC Jr. Nationals). Third went to Christina Vargas, who finally found her stride in bikini after moving from figure last year. Olympia-bound Juliana Daniell took fourth and Roya Tehrani landed in fifth.

Now, he did 45 mins of cardio to stop the rebound & now, he's ready to qualify for the O. He talks about how he got into bodybuilding. Plus, he was a dancer & part of a dance team. He's got a great support team. He talks about his everyday life. He had a minor at dance in college. He hits some poses.

Hide does leg extensions for warm up: 3-4 sets of 20 reps. Next is squats. He hasn't done heavy squats due to his hip injury. Next is leg press: 1 set of 100 reps. Next is one leg vertical leg press. More glutes & hams are involved with these. 2 sets of 20 reps. Next is step ups: 2 sets of 20 reps. Next is hip abduction: 2 sets of 20-30 reps. He wants to bring out more detail.

Abbas is making his pro debut. He starts with single leg curls. He usually does 3 warm up sets before he goes into his 1st working set & he superset that with stiff legged deadlifts. 3 sets of 15-20 reps. Next is lying leg curls, 1 warm up set & 3 working sets. Next is more stiff legged deadlifts, 1 warm up set & 3 working sets of 15 reps. For calves, standing calf raises, 1 warm up & 3 working sets of 20 reps. Next is seated calf raises: 3 sets of 20 reps. Next is donkey calf raises: 3 sets of 20 reps. He thanked his support group. He hit some poses.

It's triceps time! Close grip bench press: 4 sets of 10 reps. Dip machine: 3 sets of 15-20 reps. Tricep pushdowns + Rope pushdowns: 3 sets of 15-20 reps. Seated tricep + press aways (No name for it): 3 sets of 15-20 reps. Hide hit some poses.

Mike Liberatore 6 Days out from the 2011 Phoenix Pro

Mike prefer a one day show but with two day show like the Europa, you start & finish early. He likes his cheat meals something simple like steak, salad, mashed or sweet potatoes & dessert. He's happy about being in the top 5 for the posedown. He talks about his nutrition & cardio. He does a push-pull routine for his last workout & some posing as well. He likes to have a watchful eye when he's doing a show. This was a great interview.

Hide starts with seated military press: 4 sets of 8-20 reps. Next is upright rows: 3 sets 10-20 reps. He goes wider to hit the side delts. Next is machine side laterals: 4 sets of 20 reps. Next is seated front raises: 3 sets of 20-15 reps. Next is cable side laterals: 3 sets of 20-15 reps. He wants to make his delts to pop out more.
