How many times have you
noticed when people start dropping body fat and going into a
"transformation" phase they instantly lose some mental clarity and
focus? Always right?
Yes,
getting close to a show will
inevitably do this to an extent because your fat levels are so low.
However for a "normal" transformation this really shouldn't be the issue
that it has become for so many people.
This
is down to the fact that their diet is wrong, often excessively low in
calories and particularly low in the correct fat sources.
I
never make somebody go fat free on their diet, to me that's crazy s***.
Fats are an ESSENTIAL nutrient (by "essential" I mean
scientifically, physiologically essential) which are among other things,
totally essential for your brain function/cognitive function.
Omega
3s are the best for brain function, so including oily fish, high
quality fish oils, organic eggs and grass fed steak are all great
sources for this.
So think, your diet shouldn't just support body composition and performance goals, it should also support mental
function.
