In the late 80’s a “New Breed of Bodybuilders were flourishing in the sport, then along came a Teenager from Northern California with Movie Star good looks, 6ft tall and the word Potential written all over his body. His name was Dennis Newman and he was destined for greatness until his dream and his plans were abruptly put on hold after he won the NPC Mr. California Title then earning his IFBB Pro Card as an NPC Mr. USA Overall Winner. He would later go onto survive Two Divorces, a bout with Cancer and a Pec Tear while watching his career slipped through the hands of time.

Dennis looks great! After battling his trials & tribulations, he's doing great with his personal training. I know from the pics I've seen of him, I think he'd have been a great pro. Good Luck Dennis on what ventures you do.

Those were the days! I have been a fan of bodybuilding since the mid-90's, so I remember seeing Dennis win the USA's on ESPN and then I remember reading about his bout with his leukemia in FLEX (back then, there was no Internet). I also remember seeing his recovery piece on American Muscle Magazine on ESPN and I remember when he competed in the '98 Ironman.
Yeah, that guy has many turbulent stories but it's good to see him in good health and if he makes a run at Master's competition, I feel he will do well.
