Serotonin and Recovery
The neurotransmitter serotonin has a calming effect on the CNS and helps
you relax. Boosting serotonin before bed and after training will help
you rest (and therefore recover) better. This is one of the reasons why
taking in some carbs before bed can be beneficial when you are focusing
on muscle gain. Optimal serotonin production also aids in proper
digestion.
