Staying lean all year makes building muscle MUCH easier. There are two KEY factors here -
1. Insulin sensitivity - you need to be insulin sensitive to make
building muscle easier. Being lean has a dramatic effect on this!
2. Aromatisation - the conversion of testosterone to estrogen is never
going to be a good thing, especially when you want to build muscle. The
aromatase enzyme responsible for this lives in fat cells, making it
another reason why staying lean is important for building muscle.
