New! FitnessRx Radio with 5x Ms. Fitness Olympia Adela Garcia and Ms. Bikini Olympia Sonia Gonzales
In 2011 we’re bringing the sport of Fitness, Figure and Bikini to FitnessRx for Women. The bar has been raised and FitnessRx is ready to reach it. Along with our much anticipated NPC and IFBB contest coverage in the magazine and online, FitnessRx is excited to announce the addition of FitnessRx Radio, hosted exclusively by none other than Adela Garcia, 5 time Ms. Fitness Olympia as well as 3 time Ms. Fitness International, and Sonia Gonzales, who currently holds the title of Ms. Bikini Olympia. Both women will be competing March 4th and 5th at the 2011 Arnold Classic gunning for their respective titles. The first show will air Monday March 7th, after the Arnold Sports Festival weekend.
Puerto Rican native Adela Garcia also spent much of her childhood playing sports. She began lifting weights at age 17 to improve on her sports performance and found a love for fitness at the same time. In 1995 Adela finally decided to try her luck at the sport of Fitness. She took to the stage for the first time at the NPC Armed Forces Fitness Championships in North Carolina. Adela continued her amateur fitness career after placing second in her first show, leading her to win her pro card at the 1999 USA Fitness Championships, where she took home the Overall Fitness title. Adela’s been winning top titles ever since – she’s taken home 5 Ms. Fitness Olympia titles and 3 Ms. Fitness International titles – the two highest ranking titles in the world! Adela’s fitness routines are always high energy, oftentimes sprinkled with a Latin flare.
Born and raised in Southern California, Sonia Gonzales spent much of her childhood playing outdoor sports. Throughout high school and cosmetology school Sonia found herself spending her spare time in the gym hooked on fitness. At only 5’ tall, Sonia began competing in 2003 in the Figure division (the Bikini division was developed in 2009). Sonia earned her Figure pro card in 2006 at Figure Nationals. Her Pro career took off from there with numerous Top 3 finishes throughout 2009 and 2010 until she switched over to Bikini. She won 4 of the 5 Pro Bikini competitions she competed in with the most renowned title of Ms. Bikini Olympia, making Sonia the best IFBB Bikini Pro in the world. Sonia had this to say on competing, “I can honestly say this is my true passion, all of the preparation and anticipation of being onstage - this truly makes me whole and complete.”
Adela and Sonia strive to bring recognition women’s health and fitness. This duo will no doubt bring a new energy to FitnessRx in the radio show that will air on Monday evenings, following Muscular Development Radio.
