IFBB Pro Mark Alvisi and his training partner James Davis who is getting ready for the Arnold Amateur takes senior editor Robbie Durand thru a grueling delt workout. Alvisi discusses his change in training for the upcoming year which is relying more on heavy weights. Alvisi also notes the importance of staying lean in the off-season and how he feels that getting out of shape is detrimental to bodybuilding. Doing the Arnold Amateur can give you great exposure & that's how Alvisi started talking to Gaspari Nutrition. James is a good training for Mark & gotta like a training partner who's waiting for you & wants to learn from you. Mark's experimenting with lower reps. Mark is keeping himself lean & eating clean as well. If you train with serious intensity, you're gonna make some serious gains. James does some posing as well.

Mark's doing Smith machine squats is better for his lower back due to the wear & tear of training hard & also being in the military. You can kick your feet out a little further to make the quads grow. He likes to volume train at the end of the workouts. He splits the leg training quads or hams in the afternoon & vice versa at night for twice a week. To end the workout, he uses a high volume on leg press.
