Rotating in banded work a few times a year is a great form of 
overload at certain parts of the strength curve. 
I say just a few times a
 year because overdoing it can lead to excessive wear patterns on your 
joints. Listen to your body first and foremost. 
Everyone is 
weaker at the extremes of the range so use bands to overload the 
mid-range and portion of the exercise where you are stronger. This will 
allow you to maintain your form where you cannot handle as much weight 
and still overload the muscle throughout the movement.
