Beef or Turkey Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

2 lbs of 93% lean ground beef or ground turkey breast
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. chopped fresh basil
1 can crushed tomatoes
3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil or mac nut oil

Directions:
Heat a medium flame. Add the extra virgin olive oil or mac nu oil. Heat for 15 seconds then add the onion, celery & carrots. Stir occasionally until items appear light brown, Add beef or turkey. With a spatula, begin to break down the meat. Mix repeatedly until all the meat has been broken down, & then allow to cook until the meat is no longer visibly raw. Add the crushed tomatoes. Lower the flame to medium/low. Add the remaining ingredients. Cook at very low temperature for 20 minutes. During the cooking process, mix often. Serves over pasta or rice, enjoy by itself!
