When
Dave Palumbo first asked me about what to do with the next installment
of Bros vs. Pros, I said “It’s time to take it  on the road”. I wanted
to open it up to more than lifters in the Tri-State area where the first
five installments tookplace. When the opportunity to scout a new
location became a reality, there was an immediate short list of cities
and gyms we would consider hosting the event. So it was decided, “Head
South, young man!". . . and take Bros vs Pros to the Hardcore Stronghold
of Texas-- Brian Dobson's Metroflex Gym in Arlington, Texas.

Dymatize Nutrition
is the Title Sponsor for the Bros vs Pros 6: Battle of the Bench and
they stepped up to the plate to support this hugely popular event that
pits celebrity IFBB Pro Bodybuilder against regular gym "Bro". Dymatize
manufacture more than 200 nutritional products in their privately owned
production facility and they'll have plenty of products on display and
up for prizes at this event. Additionally, Dymatize-sponsored
athlete, Andy Haman, has several demonstrations planned within this
event; all for the benefit of not only the competitors, but also the
fans.

Anyone
who has been in the gym game for any length of time knows the name
“Metroflex”. 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman trains there. Arnold Classic
winner Branch Warren trains there. Last but definitely not least,
consummate trainer to more than 100 nationally and internationally
ranked athletes; Mr. Brian Dobson, owns and operates this very old
school throwback gym. No pink dumbbells. No
inverta/cross/yoga/elliptical machines. No smoothie bar. No
airconditioning! It’s pure hardcore, baby! The rabid fan base of the Dymatize Bros vs. Pros 6: Battle of the Bench are certain to show up in droves on Sat April 23rd in Arlington!

The
premise for this event is simple. Pit a male and female IFBB Pro
Bodybuilder (Pros) against any and all challengers (Bros). Past events
have seen squats for reps and deadlifts for reps. At this Dymatize
Bros vs. Pros challenge, it’s all about the bench, the great equalizer
of upper body strength and long tradition of machismo in the gym!

Last December 11th
at Deer Park, Long Island, Gold’s Gym, a massive and now legendary
crowd witnessed a last minute entrant destroy everyone in the
deadlift-for-reps competition. IFBB Pro Ben White, a terrific
powerlifter as well as bodybuilder tried to fend off everyone, but the
door opened and the room grew a bit dark as the massive shadow of one of
the world’s strongest men, Derek Poundstone, threw down the gauntlet.

Derek arrived a bit under the weather, yet managed to eak out the win with his pulling prowess with 405lbs for reps. Derek took
home $2,000, but the event was far from finished. The girls were
chomping at the bit to get their turn at defying gravity as many times
as they could with 185lbs. IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Tazzie Colomb
was the pro female representative. No one could withstand the awesome
display of mass and brawn by Tazzie as she knocked out 52 reps with the
185lb bar. No one was even close, and a cool $1000 went to the female
victor.

This
year we will be in the warm and unpredictable Dallas area and for the
first time are moving the event outside! Unlike baseball or football,
wind shouldn’t be a factor in these athlete’s performances. I spoke
recently about this event with Tazzie. It’s clear she's really eager to
particpate in this version of the Dymatize
Bros vs. Pros festivities.  “I don’t know what talent is in the Dallas
area, but I’m really excited about defending my title. I really don’t
think there is anyone who can beat me, but you never know”.

When I spoke with IFBB Pro Bodybuilder, Andy Haman,
the self-promotion guru extraordinaire, he told me “Yes, I would love
to be the Biggest and the Best! – But, after 30 years in the gym and in
athletics, things have changed just a bit. At 45 my main concern now is
my Family – Food and Fun!” Andy’s prediction about his benching on April
23
rd
– “I’ll pop off a bunch! Not 50 or 60 but I’ll move 315 full range of
motion for a while for everyone and have some fun in store in my bag of
tricks for all of the fans. Even non-Haman fans will love Dymatize and us after they meet us!”

The
rumors are floating around about a certain NPC star that was claimed,
by Gossip Mogul Aaron Singerman, to be able to bench 315 for 50-60 reps!
Well, it’s time to see if the rumors are true or not! Eddie’s Moyzan's
flight is booked and he’s making no predictions because he plans on
letting his numbers do his speaking for him.

For the first time at a Bros vs. Pros event, a unique Strongman competition will also take place. The AtLarge Nutrition Strongman Tire Flip Challenge will immediately follow the bench press-for-reps event. Leading the way is American Strongman Corporation (ASC) Pro Ryan Bracewell.
A former Europa Strongman Show of Champions winner, a multiple national
record holder in powerlifting and host of the Rx Power Hour with Nathan
Payton, Ryan has one simple statement (lifted right out of Rocky III:
“…..Prediction?....Pain!”

However,
he also said “I think this is a great way to expand the Bros vs. Pros
programming and bring additional spotlight to Strongman events. I would
expect to see at least 20 competitors at an event like this with less
than half actually finishing the 60’ course. And oh yeah, I plan to
win!”

Contestants
will flip a more than a 600lb tire end-over-end across a timed 60’
course. Fastest time of the day takes home $500 of AtLarge Nutrition's cold hard cash! Long time powerlifting supporter and owner of AtLarge Nutrition,
Chris Mason knew that being involved with this event would be
beneficial to not only his company, but to the athletes out there who
are pro caliber in strength, but not in recognition.

House of Pain
will give both the male and female winners of the bench challenge and
the tire flip challenge winner embroidered event bags and gift
certificates good for House of Pain clothing. Rick Brewer, proprietor of House of Pain,
had a very keen interest to join in this event. He has been a big
supporter of many of the events held by Brian Dobson and knows this will
be an amazing and well attended spectacle.

BSN, the perennial sponsor of RxMuscle.com sent us a ton of product samples to give away to the fans and athletes. N.O. Explode en mass will get loaded into our truck to bring to Dallas. No one will walk way empty handed at this event.

Another outstanding sponsor for this event is Hydrolyze Ultra, the leader in Cellular Hydration Water. Event promoter Jack Titone sees this opportunity to be involved with the Dymatize
Bros vs. Pros 6 event as common business sense. His successful IFBB St.
Louis Pro event last month is proof positive that Jack knows a good
thing when he sees it. But instead of calorie counting fitness girls, Hydrolyze Ultra is sponsoring the Friday night Pancake Eating Contest
at the Ol’ South Pancake house in Fort Worth. 8 monster-sized pancakes
in one hour is the usual challenge at this restaurant. However, we saw
fit to take it to the next level! Cash and prizes are in store for
whoever can eat the entire Ol’ Pancake House Challenge the fastest.

UltraFit360.com is new to the RxMuscle family and saw the opportunity to showcase their Sugar and Guilt free Chocolate bar line by offering prize packages for the winners. Especially satisfying, Healthy Chocolate is a reality. All of these companies wanted to continue to show their support of Dymatize Bros vs. Pros 6 and it’s rapidly expanding fan base.

Don’t forget, Dymatize
Bros vs. Pros 6, Battle of the Bench -  is open to any man who can move
315lb or woman who can rep out wiht 135lb. If you think you can do
these weights for reps, be sure to take a shot at beating the pros at
their own game.

Do you have what it takes to become the next Dymatize
Bros vs. Pros Champion? If so, join Dave Palumbo, SallyAnne Taylor,
Bryan Hildebrand, Aaron Singerman and many others from the RxMuscle.com
crew and show everyone what you’ve got. $3500 in cash, plus many more
prizes, are at stake for the undiscovered gym "bro" who might just be
the next great shining star!
