Bro’s vs Pro’s Official Rules

Dymatize Battle of the Bench and the AtLarge Nutrition Tire Flip Challenge
Dymatize Bro's vs. Pro's 6 at Metroflex Gym in Arlington, Tx undoubtably will be epic. Andy Haman posting his full range of motion 315lbs for reps for more than a dozen is a sneak peak for what people are in store to witness, while Eddie Moysen posted a video of him machine pressing more than 800lbs for reps. Tazzie Colomb has remained silent, undoubtably letting her previous performances and her reputation speak for itself.
In events past, there was some rather unhappy participants who felt they had completed the challenges within the spirit of the event while others half repped their way to victory. With these rules in place and a strict judge who plays no favorites, this BvP will be a bit tougher. Below are the rules established to make these events fair and competitive. Any issues with these rules as they are set now, may be discussed at the event on Saturday April 23, 2011.
Dymatize Battle of the Bench
1. Both men and women will follow the rules of the event with a professional and polite demeanor. Anyone not following this simple rule will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the head judge.
2. Men will use a 45lb bar, 6 - 45lb plates and simple clip style collars equaling 315lbs. Women will use the same bar but with 2 - 45lb plates and simple clip style collars.
3. Both men and women MUST use a full grip. It may be an overhand grip or a reverse grip, but the athlete’s thumbs must wrap around the bar. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of each rep used with an inappropriate grip.
4. Each athlete will let the head spotter know whether they want a lift off or not. Once the bar comes off of the vertical stands, the try has commenced. If the bar makes contact with the vertical stand, that rep is disallowed. Once the bar is back in the rack, the athlete may not relift it for additional reps.
5. Both feet and the shoulders of the competitor must remain on the ground during the duration of the attempt.
6. The bar must make contact with the athletes torso with each rep. Failure to do so will result in a non counted repetition.
7. Lock out. The athlete does not need to pause, but elbows must reach full lockout. If an athlete has an issue with one or both elbows not being able to fully extend, the reason and demonstration of such must occur with the head judge PRIOR to attempting your lift.
8. When the last rep of the athlete cannot be completed, for safety, the head judge will instruct the spotters to return the bar back to the rack, thus ending the attempt.
9. In the event of a tie, each athlete will compete at in a “lift off” with a weight to be determined.

AtLarge Nutrition Tire Flip Challenge
1. Each athlete will stand upright with both hands on the tire. The tire will stand in the upright position. At the judges whistle, the athlete will push, then lift and flip, not roll the tire, end over end with any method he or she chooses until the tire makes contact with the ground.
2. The course will be approximately 60’ in length.
3. The tire will be aligned behind the starting line and the entire tire must cross past the finish line.
4. Fastest time as averaged by two timers will be our winner.
