Reciprocal Inhibition - this is the idea that
by contracting that antagonist to the working muscle, the workout muscle
is actually allowed to relax and stretch. The opposable is also true.
This may be something you learn to apply in training (MI40X anyone?) or
in life when you're framing in the middle of the night. Hamstring cramp?
Try contracting your quads to help your hams relax.
