Muscle Contraction

Sometimes people make the mistake of banging out sets without really feeling the muscle work. The contraction is important. Pause at the contraction of each rep and squeeze the muscles. Then the negative phase of the lift should be slow. Don't think in terms of counting reps Instead, try the pattern should be "one, hold, two, hold." It's a good way to you really focus on the contraction and controlling your lifts.
