Hello to my gym people, I got a question to ask you. What's hardcore? Is it the gym, the environment, the people, the equipment or the training itself? I was reading Evan's column ,Made In The USA, in the the Sept. 2011 issue of MD. Evan talked about his back training with Dorian Yates.
In the last paragraph, starts to talk about What's hardcore. In the article, Evan says, "But it got me thinking about what it really means to say a gym is "hardcore." The gym I go, to Gold's in New Haven, is clean, organized and the equipment is all perfectly maintained. But it's every bit as hardcore as Temple or MetroFlex. Hardcore is an attitude and an environment, and it has nothing to do with a gym being messy with a bunch of stuff that's mismatched or falling apart. If you're a gym owner and your place is a dump, that doesn't make it hardcore, you're just being cheap and/or lazy!"
To me "Hardcore" is all about what you bring to the gym. Being hardcore is training hard & kicking ass on what you do. Hardcore does not socalize during the workout. This aint no social club! You can talk after the workout. I'll train at any gym and make it hardcore! As long you bring your all, then it doesn't matter what gym you are in or what you have in the gym.
So I'll ask again....What's hardcore to you?
